Jackdaw

A study of an Eurasian Jackdaw. Drawn using pencil and colour pencil on a parchment paper background. Most people would describe Jackdaws as predominantly black, but in this drawing I wanted to capture the surprisingly blueish grey sheen that reflects on the feathers in certain lights along with the Jackdaw’s quizzical yet knowing expression in those silvery pale blue eyes. The Jackdaw symbolises intelligence, community and mischief, whilst representing resourcefulness, communication and adaptability.

This single sided, full colour print is on A4 (297mm x 210mm), 250gsm white paper (with full colour parchment style printed background colour) in a matte ink finish.
